7) 18th January 2016 – Exposure to Sustainable Development on Green Economy
Final year students from the BBA in Supply Chain Management participated the Social Responsibility and Green Economy Forum organized by Social Enterprise Research Institute (SERI) and Asian College of Knowledge Management (ACKM). The forum united cross-sector speakers from government, private sector corporates, technology developers, investors and NGOs to discuss different perspectives on carbon policies and management strategies in grasping the opportunities of evolving markets.
Students enthusiastically participated in the discussion sessions. They raised questions on sustainable development, green economy indicators for quality retail management and drivers for Corporate Social Responsibility. In response to students’ questions, Ir Prof Daniel M. Cheng, Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI), encouraged students to develop awareness in application of innovations and sustainable development.

8) 15th January 2016 – CCSI and United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation signed MOU on Social Responsbility
On 15 January 2016, the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and the Centre for Corporate Sustainability and Innovations (CCSI) in Hang Seng Management College which is based in the People’s Republic of China’s Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong, signed an agreement to mutually pursue the goals of engaging teaching institutions and the private sector on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and providing training programmes that will focus on effective entrepreneurship education, including social entrepreneurship. The two organizations first discussed the mutual interest in September 2015.

14) May, 2016 – Survey on Global Goals for
Sustainable Development
Junior Chamber
International Hong Kong (JCI) conducted a survey on Global Goals for Sustainable
Development and held a Survey Results Conference on 21 May, 2016. Dr.
Shirley Yeung was invited to share her perspective on sustainable development.
300 questionnaires were collected in
this survey and it shows youth in Hong Kong do not really understand and
familiar with the concept of Global Goals for Sustainable Development, with
average score of 5.99 out of 10. The survey also demonstrates respondents’ view
on the Sustainable Development Goals for Hong Kong and Personal Sustainable
Development Goals. “Sustainable Cities and Communities” is the most important
Sustainable Development Goals for Hong Kong. “No poverty”, “Climate action”,
“Zero Hunger” and “Good Health and Well-being” are important goals for personal
development, with more than 90 respondents selected.
In
order to achieve mutual goals and promote Sustainable Development,
further collaborations will be explored
between CCSI and JCI member countries.
